Conversion tracking in Insytix means knowing not just how many people visited — but who took a valuable action: submitted a form, called, clicked WhatsApp, or made a purchase. tf.js automatically detects most of these without manual setup. This guide explains which conversions are measured, how to verify they're counted correctly, and how to read the data in the dashboard.

What counts as a conversion in Insytix

A conversion is any event representing commercial interest or inquiry: form_submit (contact form), phone_click (tel: click), whatsapp_click (WhatsApp click), new_lead (identified new lead), and orders (woo_order, konimbo_order, eshop_order). page_view is not a conversion — it's a traffic metric. Insytix separates "how many came" from "how many acted" — what matters for both service businesses and online stores.

  • form_submit — form submission
  • phone_click — click to call
  • whatsapp_click — WhatsApp click
  • Orders — store purchase

Form tracking (form_submit)

tf.js listens for standard HTML form submissions — Contact Form 7, Elementor Forms, WPForms on WordPress; Wix Forms on Wix; and regular forms on custom sites. When a visitor clicks Submit, a form_submit event is sent with page URL and arrival source. The lead appears in the Leads tab with form fields (name, phone, email — per what was entered). Forms in external iframes (e.g. embedded Typeform) won't be captured automatically.

Phone click tracking (phone_click)

Only tel: links (e.g. <a href="tel:0501234567">) or elements with data-phone / data-tel count as phone_click. A phone number displayed as plain text — without a link — won't be counted. This is intentional: Insytix only counts explicit visitor action. Ensure "Call us" buttons on your site are tel: links — very common on Israeli service sites.

  • Use href="tel:..."
  • Or data-phone / data-tel on element
  • Plain text is not counted

WhatsApp tracking

Clicks on WhatsApp links (wa.me or api.whatsapp.com) count as whatsapp_click. Important in Israel where many prefer WhatsApp over phone. Leads appear in the dashboard with arrival source — know if the customer came from Facebook or Google before messaging.

Commerce conversions (orders)

For WooCommerce, Konimbo, E-Shop, and Wix Store shops — purchase is the most important conversion. Insytix receives order events with amount, products, and traffic source. The dashboard shows paid conversions (Google Ads, Facebook) alongside organic. Set the correct site type in Insytix to enable order tracking.

Traffic source for every conversion

Every Insytix conversion carries the visitor's arrival source: utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, referrer, and gclid from Google Ads. Answer "which campaign brought this lead?" in one click. Add UTM to campaign links — tf.js stores them for the entire session.

Reading conversion data in the dashboard

On the main overview: lead cards, phone clicks, orders (for stores). Leads tab: all inquiries with status (new, in progress, closed). Orders tab: purchases with amount and source. Activity / events: detailed log of every event. Conversion rate = conversions ÷ visitors — useful for comparing periods.

Alerts on conversions

Enable push alerts in the dashboard — for new lead, phone click, order, or abandoned cart. The alert arrives on your phone within seconds — ideal for businesses that want fast follow-up. Choose which conversion types trigger alerts.

Verify conversion tracking works

Perform test actions: submit a form, click tel:, place a test order (store). Check the dashboard for events within seconds. If form not counted — verify HTML submit, not iframe. If phone not counted — check tel: link. View Source: verify tf.js loads.

Conversion tracking by business type

Service business (lawyer, accountant, consultant): main conversion is form_submit and phone_click — lead requesting consultation. Clinic or beauty salon: appointment form + phone click. Renovation contractor: WhatsApp and phone matter more than forms. WooCommerce store: main conversion is order — but also leads from "product question" form. Blog: page_view and time on site; conversion = newsletter signup (form_submit). Insytix adapts the dashboard to your chosen site type.

Common conversion tracking mistakes

Phone number as plain text — not counted as phone_click; use tel:. Form in external iframe — not counted; use built-in form. Duplicate tf.js — double conversions. Store without commerce site type — orders won't appear. Confusing session recording with conversion — recording doesn't replace form_submit. Expecting Google Business Profile click data — those aren't site phone_click; Insytix only tracks actions on your site.

Paid conversions (Google Ads and Facebook)

When connecting Google Ads and Facebook Ads from the Insytix dashboard, the system identifies paid conversions: leads or orders from ad clicks. gclid from Google and fbclid from Facebook link automatically. See not just "10 leads this week" but "7 from Google Ads, 3 from Facebook" — with amounts for orders. Critical for marketing agencies reporting ROI to Israeli clients.

Frequently asked questions

Need to set conversion goals manually? No — tf.js detects automatically. Are session recordings conversions? No — recordings separate from stat events. Do GA and Insytix count the same? Not necessarily — Insytix more accurate for forms and phone in real time. Export leads? Yes, from dashboard. Elementor Popup counted? Yes, if form is HTML submit. Phone purchase (not via site) counted? No — only on-site actions.

Conversion verification checklist

Before relying on conversion data for decisions: (1) tf.js in View Source, (2) test form → lead in dashboard, (3) test tel: link → phone_click, (4) test order for store → order in dashboard, (5) UTM test → correct source on lead, (6) push active on new lead. If all six pass — conversion tracking is healthy. Repeat after theme update, plugin change, or cache purge.

Insytix vs Google Analytics for conversions

Google Analytics excels at long-term traffic analysis, but Insytix specializes in real-time conversions with contact details: name, phone, email from forms — not just an "event". GA requires goal setup; Insytix auto-detects forms and tel:. GA reports with delay; Insytix — seconds. Many combine: GA for historical reports (connect from dashboard), Insytix for daily action and push alerts. For Israeli businesses wanting to know "who called right now" — Insytix wins.

Summary

Conversion tracking in Insytix is automatic: forms, phone, WhatsApp, and orders — with traffic source for each. Ensure tel: links, HTML forms, and correct store site type. Enable push and respond to customers faster than competitors.
